Scottish Government

Comas has supported the Scottish Government and the team in City of Edinburgh Council to develop a practice manual for working with children within a programme for male perpetrators of domestic abuse.

Mind Your Own Business

In 2008 Comas was commissioned by the Community Land Unit of Highlands and Islands Enterprise to design and deliver training helping organisations to prepare for owning community assets.

The original training programme took place in ten events throughout Scotland between November 2008 and March 2009. The training covered a range of issues from governance and financial management to working with volunteers and securing the future.

In 2010 the Community Land Unit re-commissioned Comas to hold an additional three training events in three areas which were recognised as not having been covered in the original programme.

The training manual was made publically available on the Scottish Community Land Network website (registration is free) at

Older People in Northfield - Quality of Life and Access to Services

In December 2009 Comas was commissioned by the Craigentinny and Duddingston Neighbourhood Partnership to undertake a needs-assessment in the wider Northfield area of Edinburgh. The research focused on the availability and accessibility of services for older people which help to support and sustain their social networks and well-being.

Comas completed this research project and submitted a final report in March 2010.
